Summers in Nederland are popular for tourists. The cool mountain air is soothing and revitalizing. It provides a perfect environment for those wishing to hike, bike, horse back ride, or just escape the heat.
Reynolds Ranch and West Magnolia Multi-Use Trails
Several Trail systems are literally right outside your door. You can walk / run / jump / slide / ski / bike to several trailheads from the lodge in a matter of minutes (like, we mean 2–10 minutes.) For example, Reynolds Ranch and the West Magnolia trails. This area has been recently upgraded by the Forest Service with trail improvements, new Kiosks with local information and trial maps.
For popular trailheads near Nederland, visit the website Best Trails Near Nederland. A few examples are Hesse, East Portal, and Fourth of July trailheads. These trails are just west of the Town of Eldora and south of Nederland. In addition, the Jumbo Mountain Dakota Hill Trailhead, an intermediate hike, is just south of Rollinsville.
The nearby Indian Peaks include the challenging James Peak and Arapaho Peak. In addition, Rainbow Lakes and Long Lake Loop are beautiful intermediate hikes close to Nederland.
